Balancing effective perimeter security in the public sector with safe solutions to minimise personal injury.

Protecting public sector property can be a difficult and expensive challenge.  Making areas safe for members of the public creates a need to balance an effective intruder deterrent with solutions that minimise risk of serious injury.

Public areas present a multitude of challenges when considering intruder deterrents. Security requires preventive measures that are effective but that will minimise the risk of personal injury, whilst taking into account the Occupiers Liability and Highways Acts.   Solutions also need to adapt to a variety of surfaces and be sympathetic to their environments.

The DefendaStrip anti-climb system comprises of three products, the Flex, Rise and Spin, which can be used separately or together as a more comprehensive perimeter protection solution for all surfaces; for new installations or retrofit applications.  Simple and quick to fit, installation time is reduced and the weather resistant Polypropylene profile on all products means post installation care isn't required.

Finding a security solution that is visually pleasing but that can also satisfy local planning laws or restrictions is difficult. The DefendaStrip range offers less visually intrusive solutions than other anti-climb products.

Available in black, green, brown, and grey as standard, they  can be colour customised to suit their surroundings making them the perfect choice for sensitive environments such as conservation areas, and historic or listed buildings.  Our range has been more readily accepted by Local Authorities as â€‹an alternative to harsher, less aesthetically acceptable products.

This is particularly relevant for residential areas such as social housing developments.  When installed in some social housing estates that have experienced significant and persistent trespassing and ASB incidents, our products have proven to drastically reduce if not eliminate these incidents completely, as demonstrated in this case study.
